Nigerian Star Reveals He Is “Open” To Ibrox Move Amid Claims That Rangers Have Already Held Preliminary Talks

Randers FC striker Stephen Odey has admitted that he is flattered by the interest being shown in him from Rangers and Celtic.

Reports have suggested that Gers Director of Football Ross Wilson has already made an enquiry about the 24-year-old and, when asked about joining one of the Old Firm teams, Odey replied:

“These are big clubs, and it is clear that this is something that I want to be open to. But I’m in Randers FC, and right now that’s the only thing that matters. As long as I have not been presented with anything concrete, as I said, I will not let myself be disturbed by it.”

Randers sporting director Soren Pedersen has confirmed that there is a lot of interest in Odey and he has even claimed that the Danish club have rejected a bid for the Nigerian international.

However, he did deny that the offer was made by Rangers or Celtic, suggesting that another team could beat them to the player’s signature.

Gers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst is keen on signing a forward this summer but it had been assumed that PAOK’s Antonio Colak was the number one target.

However, a delay in completing a deal for the Croatian international may have led them to consider alternative targets such as Odey.
