Newly Promoted Club Lining Up Shock Move To Snap Up Rangers Star

Nottingham Forest are preparing an offer to sign Rangers defender Connor Goldson on a free transfer, according to reports in the UK.

The 2-time European Cup winners have returned to the top flight of English football for the first time in 23 years, and manager Steve Cooper is keen to recruit Goldson as one of his first signings.

Cooper is reportedly a big admirer of Goldson, who has been linked with Forest on a number of occasions over the past twelve months.

Other teams, including West Ham, have also been credited with an interest in the 29-year-old, but Forest seem to be the team best placed to secure the centre-back’s signature, following their win over Huddersfield in the playoff final on Sunday.

Despite being Europa League finalists, Rangers’ finances mean they can’t match Premier League wages. Norwich City alone earned £100.3m just for finishing bottom of England’s top division last campaign.
