West Brom have made an enquiry for Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos, according to reports in the English media.
The Baggies are desperate to bring in a new forward and they are currently looking at four options, including Morelos, with Huddersfield’s Karlan Grant, Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi and Watford captain Troy Deeney also being considered as potential candidates by manager Slaven Bilic.
Huddersfield have asked West Brom to pay £16m for Grant, and with Morelos reportedly available for €20m (£18m), the newly-promoted English Premier League side could decide to switch targets before the transfer window closes next month.
Lille, Fiorentina and a number of clubs in Germany are said to be keen on the Colombian international but no club has so far matched the Light Blues’ valuation of the player.
Gers boss Steven Gerrard has admitted Morelos’s head has been turned by all the speculation and the 24-year-old has not featured since the 0-0 draw against Livingston three weeks ago.
