Midfielder Hands Rangers Major Transfer Boost Ahead Of January Transfer Window

Norwich City midfielder Kenny McLean could return to fitness by Christmas, according to his manager Daniel Farke.

Last month, the Scotland international was being touted as a January transfer target for Rangers but the player suffered a knee injury which was expected to keep him out for a significant length of time. However, Farke says McLean is now expected to make his comeback much earlier than anticipated:

“For the long term, some good news. Kenny McLean could have been out for four or five months but that’s not the case. He could be back around Christmas.”

McLean grew up supporting the Light Blues, and even spent a couple of years in the Scottish club’s academy before leaving for St Mirren, so he would likely be open to a switch to Ibrox.

The Gers were reportedly targeting the 28-year-old in the summer, only to have their approach knocked by Norwich. His injury could have potentially ended their interest but the fact that he will be fit before the New Year may lead to another attempt to sign him in January.
