Michael Beale Claims Soon To Be Out Of Contract Star Has NOT Told Him He Wants To Stay At Rangers

Rangers manager Michael Beale has revealed that Alfredo Morelos has still not told him whether he wants to remain at Ibrox.

The Colombian’s contract at the club expires in just over two months, but when asked whether the striker has signalled his intention to stay beyond the end of the season, Beale replied:

“No, we said we’re going to concentrate on the rest of the season. Stay committed to each other and talk in the summer, and that’s fine. I’m happy with that. He reiterated that there’s no truth in the Seville situation whatsoever.”

It was reported in the Spanish press last week that Morelos had signed a pre-contract agreement with Sevilla, but Beale claims that the player has denied that this is the case.

When a professional footballer is within the final six months of their contract, they are not obligated to tell their current club if they have agreed to join another team, but it looks as though the Sevilla rumours were false.

More discussions between Morelos and the club will take place when the campaign is over but all the signs point towards the 26-year-old leaving on a free transfer at the moment.
