McAllister Provides An Injury Update On Three Rangers Players

Rangers assistant manager Gary McAllister has confirmed that Ryan Kent and Jordan Jones are both back in training following injury layoffs.

Kent missed the 4-0 win against St Johnstone and the 1-0 victory versus Feyenoord due to a hamstring problem but he is expected to make his comeback to the first team soon. McAllister said:

“They won’t be rushed but they’re back on the training field a wee bit quicker than anticipated.”

Jones injured his knee when fouling Celtic’s Moritz Bauer in the Old Firm derby earlier this month. It was feared that he could be out for the season, but those fears were eased after a scan suggested he would only be out for a month.

The Northern Irish international is unlikely to face Livingston in the League Cup tomorrow or play in the match against Aberdeen on Saturday, but he should be back in contention at the start of October.

McAllister did, however, confirm that Brandon Barker is unlikely to feature against Livingston due to a toe injury.
