Mansour Confirms Club Have Received Two Offers For £5m Rated Rangers Target

Zamalek president Mortada Mansour has confirmed that the Egyptian club have already rejected two bids for striker Mostafa Mohamed.

The 22-year-old is reportedly a target for Rangers after TV pundit Haytham Farouk claimed that the Gers had sent an official to speak with the player after his displays at the Under 23 African Cup of Nations. However, Mansour says the only two offers they have received have come from other teams:

“We have received two offers from clubs in France and Belgium. Both were rejected. We know there is also interest in him from other clubs in Europe. We have no intention of selling Mostafa unless we get an offer that is impossible to turn down.”

“He is an international player who can score goals and is a huge asset for us. We intend to keep him at the club for as long as possible.”

It is believed Zamalek won’t let Mohamed leave for less than £5m; a figure which is likely to end any interest that Rangers had in the forward.

The Light Blues currently only have two out and out strikers in the squad, following the termination of Kyle Lafferty’s contract in the summer. So far, manager Steven Gerrard has not needed to look far beyond Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe due to both their goals and fitness, but he would likely prefer to have more depth up front.
