Manager ‘Keen’ To Sign 10.3M Rated Rangers Marksman As European Giants Consider Formal Approach

Fenerbahce head coach Vitor Pereira is “keen” on the Turkish club signing Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos, according to Takvim.

The Turkish publication reports that the 25-year-old is one of three forwards that the Super Lig side have shortlisted as potential targets before the transfer window closes.

In addition to Morelos, Fenerbahce are also weighing up offers for RB Leipzig pair Hee-chan Hwang and Alexander Sorloth but it seems the club’s manager has his sights set on the Colombian international.

Takvim claim that the striker is valued at around €12m (£10.3m) but that figure is lower than the asking price of €15m (£13m), which was bandied around the Portuguese media earlier this month when Porto were pursuing Morelos.

Whether Fenerbahce actually have the budget to meet Rangers’ demands, though, it is doubtful. So far this summer, the Turkish giants have only spent around £6.5m in total; most likely due to the financial impact of the global health crisis.
