Liverpool And Chelsea Both Targeting Deal For 15 Year Old Rangers Centre Back

Liverpool, Chelsea and RB Leipzig are among a host of clubs interested in signing Rangers centre-back Leon King, according to the Athletic (paywall).

The 15-year-old can only sign a professional deal when he turns 16, meaning he is free to talk to other clubs about a potential move away from Ibrox.

King has been garnering interest after making appearances for Rangers’ development squad despite his young age. He actually made his debut for the Under 20s at the age of just 14 last year.

The defender also has caps for Scotland at Under 17 level, and his progress through the academy at Auchenhowie has led to many believing he has a very bright future in the game.

Rangers’ new sporting director Ross Wilson has, therefore, made it a priority to ensure King signs on to professional terms, but it looks as though he will have a battle on his hands to keep him.
