Kris Boyd Writes Off 2.7M Star Saying He’d Be “Surprised” To See Him Play For Rangers Again

Former Rangers striker Kris Boyd believes Bongani Zungu may have played his last game for the Light Blues.

It was revealed that the South African international was one of five Gers players who had broken virus protocols and, with the 28-year-old being the most senior star involved, Boyd can’t see a way back for him:

“I’d be very surprised if you see him in a Rangers jersey again. He’s been a major disappointment since he came to the football club and this just tops it all off.”

Zungu is on loan from Amiens until the summer and Rangers do have an option to buy the midfielder for £2.7m. However, his rule-breaking, combined with his poor performances, means he is now very unlikely to be at the club next season.

Whether manager Steven Gerrard will look to end his loan spell early, it remains to be seen. The South African has been on the periphery of the first team anyway, having started just one league game since his arrival in October, and that came in his last appearance in the 1-1 draw against Hamilton.
