Kenny Miller Names The Rangers Players Who Would Make It Into Celtic’s Starting XI

Ex-Rangers and Celtic striker Kenny Miller believes only three of the Light Blues’ starting lineup would make their Old Firm rival’s first eleven.

Captain James Tavernier would be the one dead cert in Miller’s mind to start ahead of Alistair Johnston but he also feels Allan McGregor and Connor Goldson should be included:

“Celtic are a very, very good team and they are very cohesive. There’s two [other] places up for grabs and that’s it-Mooy or O’Riley and Abada or Maeda. I think [Allan] McGregor would get in the team and I think Goldson would partner Carter-Vickers. At the moment, it’s hard to shift that midfield three and the front threes on their day, they can cause any problems.”

It is a somewhat odd selection that Miller has gone with. McGregor has been pretty poor by his own standards this campaign and his inclusion may be down to the fact that the pair are former teammates and good friends.

Goldson, on the other hand, is definitely a better player than Starfelt so that is a fair choice. Considering Malik Tillman‘s form, though, the American would surely be favoured ahead of one of Celtic’s midfield three, while Ryan Kent is superior to Daizen Maeda when it comes to talent and his ability to turn up on the big occasion.
