‘They Are Probably Bored’ Rangers Star Makes Damning Admission In Interview

Rangers superstar Kemar Roofe has empathised with Light Blues fans in a recent press conference, saying that they are ‘probably bored’ with their recent performances on the pitch.

He doubled down on this suggestion, saying that if a game is boring, he would ‘turn the TV off and do something else’. Nevertheless, he added that the team ‘are not trying to play boring football’.

What did Kemar Roofe say in the press conference?

Speaking in a press conference, Roofe said [via Rangers’ official YouTube channel]: “I suppose they are booing because they are probably bored, unfortunately. Trust me, we don’t want that to happen.

“But we also have to take responsibility and entertain them a little bit more and play attractive football for them, so they don’t boo us and they aren’t bored. Every game, there’s a demand to play with style. Every game, there’s a demand to look good, to please the fans and to entertain them.

“Yes, football is a results-driven business, but it’s also an entertainment business. That’s why fans come to watch a game after all, to be entertained.

“I am the same when I watch football. If the game’s boring, I’ll probably turn the TV off and do something else. It’s natural. Trust me, we are not trying to play boring football. I genuinely do believe it’s a matter of time.”

Are Rangers ‘boring’?

Rangers’ last three results in all competitions, all of which have been wins, have had a final scoreline of 2-0, 1-0 and 1-0, respectively. Since their humiliating dismantling at the hands of PSV, it seems Michael Beale has opted to tighten up his side at the back.

However, this decision has come at a cost – it has made Rangers economical at best and uninteresting to watch at worst. Indeed, they have only won a single game by more than a two-goal margin this season (that being their 4-0 victory over Livingston).

Rangers are winning games at present, which makes for a welcomed change – but fans are likely to grow impatient if Beale persists with the negative style of play that they have been implementing in recent weeks.
