Kamara And Barisic To Start: Rangers Predicted Line Up To Face Progres Niederkorn

Rangers have a two-goal lead heading into the second leg of their Europa League qualifier against Progres Niederkorn this evening. Manager Steven Gerrard would have preferred a bigger advantage so he could have rested players ahead of the opening SPFL match against Kilmarnock this weekend but he’s expected to field a strong lineup.

Steven Davis started the first leg in midfield but he has a tight hamstring and won’t be risked in Luxembourg tonight. Glen Kamara will likely come into the starting eleven in the Northern Irishman’s absence.

Gerrard will have a key decision to make in defence. The Gers boss could give Filip Helander his competitive debut or keep faith with George Edmundson who performed well in the first leg. He may, though, opt for a tried and tested partnership to keep a clean sheet and partner Nikola Katic with Connor Goldson.

Borna Barisic could also be picked ahead of Andy Halliday at left-back following the Croatian’s good start to the campaign. Other than that, the line up pretty much picks itself, with the only other debate being whether Jermain Defoe should be given a run-out ahead of Alfredo Morelos.

Rangers’ Predicted XI To Face Progres:

McGregor, Tavernier, Goldson, Edmundson, Barisic, Jack, Kamara, Aribo, Ojo, Morelos, Arfield

Predicted Score – 1-0 to Rangers.
