Journalist Tips Rangers To Revive Move For Croatian U21 Star But They Could Now Face Competition From The EPL

Rangers are considering whether to reignite their interest in HNK Rijeka defensive midfielder Ivan Lepinjica, according to Germanijak reporter Izak Sucic.

The Croatian journalist suggests that both the Light Blues and Wolves are keeping tabs on the 22-year-old, while Tottenham have also been tracking the player:

To be honest, it does seem as if Sucic is not sure whether the Gers will firm up their interest in Lepinjica or not. As he mentioned, the Scottish club have been regularly linked with the player over the past few years but that was when Steven Gerrard was manager.

Although director of football Ross Wilson does have a lot of control when it comes to transfer targets, any move is subject to the approval of Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who may have other players in mind.

With Steven Davis having signed a contract extension, and James Sands having a year remaining on his loan deal, recruiting another midfielder is not a priority. Van Bronckhorst is likely to be keener on bringing in a striker and another winger.
