Journalist Reveals Club Have Set A Deadline For Negotiations Over £18m Rated Rangers Star

Daily Record journalist Duncan Castles has revealed Lille may pull out of negotiations at the end of this week if they can’t reach an agreement with Rangers over Alfredo Morelos.

The Light Blues have reportedly upped their asking price from €12m (£11m) to €20m (£18m) since it became known that Lille will be selling Victor Osimhen to Napoli for €60m (£54m).

This change in stance has left Lille frustrated and Castles says that they may look at alternatives if the Morelos deal continues to stall:

“The word in Scotland, at present – probably coming out of Rangers – is they’re looking for about €20m for the player. Lille are understandably getting a bit fed up with this negotiating process and what they consider the unprofessionalism of it and want it resolved this week, ideally, in the next day or two, otherwise they will go and sign an alternative target.”

Castles also confirmed reports from France that Lille have already agreed personal terms with Morelos so the player is very keen on leaving Ibrox for the Ligue One outfit.

However, it seemss that Rangers’ change in demands could well jeopardise the move from going ahead. It will be interesting to see whether talks can resolve the differences between the two sides over the next few days.
