Journalist Deals Blow To Rangers’ Chances Of Signing Chelsea Star After ‘Reunion’ Claim

Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour is keen on a “reunion” with manager Frank Lampard at Everton, according to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook.

Rangers have been linked with signing the Scottish international on loan but Crook claims the player wants to link up with former coach Lampard, who gave him his senior debut at Stamford Bridge:

Gilmour is coming off the back of a difficult spell at Norwich City, and there have been suggestions that he may even leave Chelsea on a permanent basis this summer.

For that reason, a move back to Rangers had been ruled out as the Scottish side weren’t in a position to pay the sort of fee that Chelsea would want for the 21-year-old.

The news that Gilmour could be available on loan once again, though, would have boosted hopes that a return to Ibrox was possible, but it looks as though the midfielder is keen on reuniting with Lampard instead.
