Journalist Claims Rangers Should Be Raiding Rivals For 15 Goal Forward Who Could “Fill The Void” If Kent Leaves

Rangers would be wise to consider Aberdeen forward Duk as a potential replacement for Ryan Kent, according to the Daily Record reporter Scott Burns.

The Portuguese star has been outstanding since moving from Benfica last summer, racking up 15 goals in all competitions, and Burns says he should be on Michael Beale’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window:

“Kent is out of contract at the end of this season and there is a genuine chance he could leave Ibrox on a free transfer. Duk could not only fill that void but throw more goal involvements into the bargain.”

As Burns points out, it is looking increasingly likely that Kent will leave Ibrox when the former Liverpool winger’s current deal expires at the end of May.

Whether Duk would be his natural successor, though, it is up for debate. The 23-year-old has spent most of the campaign playing as a centre forward for the Dons. It has only been over the last couple of months that he has been switched to the left flank.

Burns does raise an interesting possibility though and, with the Gers expected to make at least five signings this summer, we shall see if Duk comes under consideration.
