Jordan Campbell Makes 15M Claim As Rangers Are Linked With England U21 International

Rangers would have to pay upwards of £15m if they wanted to recruit Manchester City attacking midfielder James McAtee this summer, according to The Athletic journalist Jordan Campbell.

Reports have suggested that the Gers may make a loan bid for the England Under 21 international but Campbell say that isn’t the case, with the player likely to cost eight figures to sign on a permanent basis:

McAtee was said to be at the centre of a five-way tussle for his signature on loan, with Huddersfield, Swansea, Brighton and Leeds also interested, but Campbell has poured cold water on those claims.

The 19-year-old signed a new deal back in February and the player is seemingly committed to staying at City so he can break into their first team.

However, it’s probably fair to point out that there is a lot of competition for places in Pep Guardiola’s side so, if it does become apparent that he won’t feature in the English club’s plans. a loan deal may still be considered later on in the summer.
