Jim White Names The Four Clubs Interested In Signing Billy Gilmour

Rangers are not among the teams currently interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour on loan, according to talkSPORT presenter Jim White.

The formers Gers academy graduate was linked with a move back to Ibrox in January, but White claims that the Bears are not one of the four clubs who are currently keeping tabs on the 19-year-old’s situation:

“He was denied a loan move back in January. Now we know Torino and Napoli are interested in taking him on loan. There’s interest from Leicester and we know that West Ham are big admirers.”

The Light Blues’ interest in Gilmour may be reignited in the summer if it becomes clear that he is not in Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel’s plans for next season.

With the lack of game time in recent months, that is a distinct possibility, and Steven Gerrard has praised the midfielder in the past so nothing can be ruled out.

Whether the Rangers boss would see signing another midfielder as a priority, it isn’t known. The return of Bongani Zungu to Amiens when his loan spell expires in June could open up a space in the squad so we shall see what happens.
