Italian Giants ‘Could Return’ For Rangers Star In The Summer Following Agent’s Comments

Roma “could return” for Rangers left-back Borna Barisic in the summer, according to the Corriere Dello Sport. The Italian newspaper claims that the Serie A side were interested in the Croatian international during the January transfer window, but they could now revive their move for the player following comments from the fullback’s agent.

Ives Cakarun revealed at the weekend that despite Barisic only signing a new deal recently, it would not stop the 27-year-old from leaving Ibrox in the summer:

“Rangers won’t be able to keep Borna after the season he’s had, even though he’s just signed a new contract.”

It appears that the Light Blues may have a battle on their hands to keep hold of the Croatian defender at the end of the season, but it does not seem that Roma’s interest is concrete at this stage.

The Giallorossi are likely to be seeking a replacement for the ageing Aleksandar Kolarov, with the left-back now 34 years of age, but that doesn’t necessarily mean Barisic will be their top priority in the summer.
