“It Would Be Difficult To Say No” Mills Claims Key Rangers Figure May Decide To Leave Ibrox For EFL ‘Opportunity’

Former England international Danny Mills believes Rangers first-team coach Michael Beale would find it “difficult” to turn down the manager’s job at Cardiff City if it is offered to him.

Reliable sources believe Beale is under consideration for the job, with the Bluebirds having yet to replace Mick McCarthy, who was sacked last month. Mills thinks Beale will be tempted by the chance to become number one:

“If he got offered that chance, it would be difficult to say no and not take that opportunity. If it goes wrong he can always go back to Rangers as a coach. If you don’t try, you probably regret not trying and giving it a go.”

Steven Gerrard will be very reluctant to lose Beale if he is approached by Cardiff. The Lights Blues boss has said that his assistant is extremely “important” in terms of the experience and knowledge he brings to the training pitch.

Before arriving in Scotland, Beale had been a youth academy coach at Chelsea, where he worked alongside Brendan Rodgers. He then joined Rodgers at Liverpool where he met Gerrard.

After a brief detour to become Sao Paulo’s assistant manager, he returned to the UK in 2017 to take up his current role at Rangers.
