“Interest Has Been Amped Up” Insider Source Confirms West Ham are Locked In Negotiations To Sign Rangers Player

West Ham have entered talks to sign Rangers defender Calvin Bassey, according to The 4th Official.

The insider, who was accurate with their reporting on Aaron Ramsey’s loan move to Ibrox in January, claims that “several” Premier League teams are interested in Bassey, but the Hammers are the ones who have pressed ahead with negotiations:

The 4th Official goes on to say that the Bears will demand an “obscene amount of money” for Bassey, but we shall have to wait and see what that means. Earlier this month, Ex-Gers captain Barry Ferguson said that his former club should hold out for at least Β£10m, but that was before the centre-back’s outstanding performance in the Europa League final.

Fans will be desperate to keep hold of the former Leicester City academy graduate, but they will know that every Rangers player has their price. If the club had been guaranteed a Champions League group stage place, they would have been able to reject any offers from West Ham for Bassey but, after losing to Frankfurt on Wednesday evening, they will have to go through the qualifying rounds in August.
