Insider Claims Both Rangers And Celtic Tried To Sign 28 Cap International From West Ham

Rangers and Celtic both made attempts to snap up Robert Snodgrass before he sealed his move to West Brom from West Ham yesterday, according to insider ExWHUemployee.

The Twitter ITK, who is usually a good source for news on the Hammers, was quoted as saying both Old Firm clubs made approaches for the 33-year-old prior to him agreeing a switch to the Hawthorns:

“Robert Snodgrass is looking likely to leave. He had interest from Rangers and Celtic but I believe that West Brom are now looking to sign him.”

With Snodgrass available for a nominal fee, it is not a surprise that the Gers would have been tempted by the winger‘s availability, considering his experience. He has been capped 28 times by Scotland and has played 163 matches in the Premier League.

One important factor that suggests that this story may be unreliable, though, is that Snodgrass has freely admitted in the past that he is a Celtic fan and you would question why the Light Blues would even make an attempt to sign him knowing that fact.
