“I’m Hearing…” Journalist Reveals New Setback In Beale’s Attempts To Sign 2M Striker

Rangers manager Michael Beale is very “keen” on signing QPR striker Lyndon Dykes but his club are now expected to offer the player a new contract, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The former Eurosport reporter says he has it on good authority that Beale wants the Scottish international, although any deal looks unlikely at the moment:

“Beale is so keen on him. But now I’m hearing that the Hoops [QPR] are offering him a new deal to try to make sure that move does not happen.”

Dykes moved to QPR from Livingston for £2m in the summer of 2020, and he has subsequently established himself as a key player for the English Championship side.

Beale worked with the 27-year-old for a few brief months after he was appointed manager at Loftus Road earlier this season, and he clearly feels he can do a job for him at Ibrox as well.

With Kemar Roofe’s injury problems, and Alfredo Morelos likely to leave Glasgow when his contract expires this summer, it seems Dykes is the preferred candidate to strengthen the forward line.
