“I Will Make My Decision Soon” 18 Year Old Names Rangers As One Of Four Clubs He Has Received Offers From

Egyptian winger Mahmoud Saber has said he is weighing up his next move after receiving contract proposals from Rangers, Valencia, Benfica and a club in Tunisia.

The 18-year-old opted against signing a professional contract at Al-Ahly and is available on a free transfer this summer. Sabar says he will decide on his next club imminently:

“I have offers from Rangers in Scotland, Valencia in Spain and Benfica from Portugal as well as a big club in Tunisia. I will make my decision soon. I have European agents sorting my future and I hope to be in a position to sign for my new club shortly.”

Saber has played for Egypt at Under 20 level but he has no experience of playing in senior football, despite having a lot of potential. The wide man can also play at fullback so he would be an interesting addition to the squad if the teenager moved to Ibrox.

Manager Steven Gerrard does need some backup for captain James Tavernier at right-back following Matt Polster’s move back to the United States.

Further up the pitch, Saber may offer another option to Ianis Hagi and Brandon Barker, with the latter having struggled to establish himself in the first-team squad since moving from Manchester City last year.
