Rangers have secured Aberdeen attacking midfielder Scott Wright on a pre-contract agreement with the 23-year-old set to move to Ibrox next summer.
Manager Steven Gerrard has said he is very happy to see the player join the Gers, and he has suggested that they will even try to get a deal done earlier, so he can make the switch this month:
“It would be a bonus if we could get it done now, for me, but we don’t control that. It’s in Aberdeen’s control and we respect that.”
Whether that will in fact happen, we shall have to wait and see, but whenever he arrives, he will add depth to the squad and fans on Twitter are trusting Gerrard that Wright has the ability to make an impact:
I trust the gaffer

Just got to trust what the management team see in him. Welcome to the famous Scott Wright

I haven’t seen enough of him. But if it means moving on a waster like Jordan Jones then I’m all for it. SG and his back room staff have hopefully seen enough potential in Wright to merit the signing. We don’t need more Grezda’s.

Yes think he’s a great wee player but don’t know where he’s going to play competition in this team is hard enough with who’s in already

Guess the management team know best… Surely not much difference between Scott Wright and Glenn Middleton? I’m sure he’ll be a good signing though.

I’ve only seen him play once. And that was against us. Never heard of him before that. If SG thinks he’s good enough then fair play.

Wright has spent a good deal of time out injured, and he hasn’t really been pulling up any trees on his return, so it is certainly an interesting signing.
One of the main benefits that the player has going for him is that he can be utilised in a number of positions, During his time at Aberdeen, he has played as a winger, a number 10, a central midfielder and as an auxiliary forward.
