“I Expect Him To Go” Teammate Names Rangers Among 5 Teams That Could Snap Up 5M Playmaker

Heerenveen Henk Veerman fully expects his teammate Joey Veerman to leave the Dutch club for Rangers or one of the other four teams who are interested in signing him this summer.

The playmaker was originally linked with a £5m switch to Ibrox back in April, and when asked about his namesake’s future, Henk said he believes his departure is likely:

“I’ve read things about Atalanta, Rangers, PSV, Ajax and AZ. I expect him to go to one of those clubs. I also think that Joey will add value for any club in the Netherlands.”

Joey Veerman had an excellent season for Heerenveen, bagging nine goals and providing 11 assists in 35 appearances.

The 22-year-old’s price tag, combined with the interest from Atalanta and the three Dutch clubs, mean it will be a big coup if the Gers do secure the player’s services ahead of the competition.

Manager Steven Gerrard has promised to bring in more players before the end of June, as he looks to add to the signings of Nnamdi Ofoborh and Fashion Sakala. Whether Veerman will be one of those recruits, we shall have to wait and see.
