Rangers are reportedly one of the teams looking to sign Aston Villa forward Cameron Archer on loan this summer.
The 20-year-old has impressed playing for England’s Under 21s during the recent international break, bagging four goals in four games for his country.
Archer also did well during a loan spell with Preston North End last season, scoring seven in 20 appearances. and most fans on Twitter believe he could do a job in the Scottish Premiership:
Hope we get him and keep Alfie but this kid isn't going to be cheap he's pushing into villas first team

Love him on loan, would score bucket loads in SPL

He’s the type we should be looking at if Alfie stays . A young up and coming player to develop. Need to tie down Alfie first before we lose him for nothing

We are trying to find young diamonds in the rough for cheap and let's not kid ourselves move them on for big money. Sadly this is modern football and we are not in a big league

Wow, looked a good player during the limited bits of the U21s I’ve seen.

Archer won't be cheap.

Think the downside would be he's being tied into any prospective deal for Bassey, so you're looking at losing 2 top players for an U21 if we did sell Alfie too.

There is believed to be a lot of competition for Archer’s signature, with Watford and Middlesbrough just two of the teams that have been mentioned as potential suitors recently.
Rangers would, though, be an attractive option for any young player looking to develop their game. Not only would they be part of a title challenge, there is also the possibility of playing in the Champions League. We shall see who wins the race for Archer in the coming weeks.
