Rangers’ Ryan Jack started for Scotland in their 0-0 draw against Ukraine on Tuesday evening, with the midfielder helping his country secure promotion from their UEFA Nations League group.
The 30-year-old has struggled at the start of this season and most supporters on Twitter are hoping that his performance in Krakow is a sign of better things to come:
Last time Jack was in form we won the league and he got us into the euros
Hope he’s properly back now

Felt the difference when Jack came off. From there Scotland were hanging on with no control.

Jack lasted 72 minutes versus Ukraine before he was subbed off and he offered his team a good deal of control in the middle of the park.
Since returning from injury in the second half of last season, the midfielder has found it difficult to recapture his best form, and many fans had felt that he wasn’t offering much when he was handed starts by manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Considering how long Jack was out for, it isn’t surprising that it has taken this long for him to get back playing at a good level. It will be interesting to see how he performs after the international break.
