Hibernian Vs Rangers: Match Preview & Injury News – Towering Defender Could Make Starting XI

Rangers will play Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday evening, as the Gers look to increase the pressure on league leaders and bitter rivals Celtic.

Light Blues fans will be delighted to hear that, for once, their team have no new injury concerns – there are still several players who remain out of action, however.

John Souttar could make a return to the first team after he was brought on as a substitute in Rangers’ last game following a lengthy injury layoff. Ridvan Yilmaz could also play after he was brought on in the same game – Steven Davis, Filip Helander, Kemar Roofe, Nnamdi Ofoborh and Rabbi Matondo will all miss out, though.

Rangers emerged victorious in their last meeting with Hibs by a score of 3-2. In that game, the Gers looked to be condemned to an ignominious defeat, as they fell 2-1 behind early in the game. Despite this setback, Michael Beale’s men completed an inspired comeback to take home the three points, with goals coming through Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Jack.

Hibernian are enjoying a respectable season in the Scottish Premiership this year – they’re currently 4th in the table, but are also five points behind local rivals Hearts.

The Gers are currently second in the Scottish Premiership table, nine points behind Celtic. At this stage of the season, that is a chasm – not only will the Light Blues need to win most, if not all, of their remaining games, they will also have to hope that the Bhoys drop points.
