After the 2-1 defeat to St Johnstone, it looks as though Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst‘s days at Ibrox are numbered.
The Dutchman has lost the support of the vast majority of supporters with many already talking about potential candidates to replace him.
One of the club’s official media partners, the Heart & Hand podcast, has even suggested Southampton’s Ralph Hasenhuttl as a possible option, with the Austrian looking like he could leave St Mary’s, but supporters on Twitter are very much against his appointment:
Hopefully no, he’s not what we need at this time.

He’s familiar with VERY heavy defeats.

If he came then Wilson would stay. Absolute no from me.

No thanks

Southampton can’t defend & quite honestly we can’t afford another manager with zero defensive clues.
2 9-0 results mean it’s a No from me

Oh my god you’ve got to be kidding

With Hasenhuttl having suffered TWO 9-0 defeats during his time in charge of the Saints, it does suggest that he wouldn’t be the person to fix the Gers’ defensive problems.
You also have to consider the wages it would require to bring in someone like the 55-year-old. You would expect the club’s board would baulk at handing a manager seven figures a year to come to Glasgow.
Other names will likely emerge in the coming days, with van Bronkhorst very much on the brink of the sack.
