A certain Rangers star signing is beginning to pay off in spades – Todd Cantwell was practically untouchable in the Light Blues’ dominant 5-2 win over St. Mirren at the weekend.
Despite the title race in the Scottish Premiership being all but over, Rangers nonetheless put forth a solid effort against The Buddies, picking up three points along the way.
Cantwell was comfortably the standout performer on the day – St. Mirren could do little to contain his quick feet and clever passing. His contributions did not go unnoticed by the Gers massive, who sang his praises on Twitter.
Todd Cantwell throughout this move showing what we need from so many more of our attacking players.
Movement, work rate, quick and accurate passing, positional awareness, driving at defenders, final ball. https://t.co/yAyEC0ogFH

Guy was unbelievable. I can’t wait to see him in the champions league against Real or Barca or Bayern, he’s gonna run rings around them.
Watch this space, a year from now we’ll be getting £40m bids and then it’ll take off. Trust me

Can see glimpses of the player who tore it up in EPL for a spell. Hopefully Beale gets him back to his best.

It finishes 5-2 Rangers, an entertaining end following a sluggish first 70 minutes or so.
Todd Cantwell the standout. Took ownership to earn the win by creating the third which turned the game.
Has the personality to succeed at Ibrox, he's going to be a big player for Rangers.

A great team goal but Cantwell is superb during that whole sequence!

Cantwell was indeed sensational in the game against the Saints. He opened the scoring for the Gers in the 26th minute, going on to provide two assists in the second half.
Cantwell joined Rangers in January, signing for an undisclosed fee. Since then, he has scored two goals and has racked up four assists in the Scottish Premiership.
Some Celtic supporters, who gatecrashed several Twitter threads praising the 25-year-old, were keen to point out that Cantwell was not nearly as effective against them as he was against St. Mirren. The former Norwich City man has proven that he can perform in less important fixtures – but when will he begin to thrive in Rangers’ biggest games?
