Rangers are closing in on the signing of Sheyi Ojo on loan from Liverpool, according to reports.
The Reds winger has been on loan at Stade Reims in France this season but has struggled to find his form during his latest spell away from Anfield.
Still, Ryan Kent also had some poor loan spells away at Freiburg and Bristol City, and fans on Twitter think manager Steven Gerrard can get the most out of him:
Great wee player, fast paced and two footed ? young players like to prove themselves hopefully @sheyi_ojo comes up and makes a impression the same as @ryankent has done nearly every game pic.twitter.com/y6c69VtT8D

Seems like a decent signing. Had a pretty decent loan at Wolves a few years back from what I remember, don’t know how he done in France this year.

Ojo might not have been great elsewhere but neither was Kent and look at the impact he’s made. I do worry we’re going to have more left wingers than the SNP though.
Is there landmark signings to back these loans and Bosmans?

17 games this season with no goals or assists but I’m sure if given the chance he can do something.

I’d be happy if he was somewhere between Ejaria’s level and Kent’s. we’d have a useful squad player

There are a few supporters who question the strategy of bringing another wide player on loan:
I do not understand the strategy. A youth player from another club who will be a squad filler for ours. If he does well, we won’t be able to afford him (EPL prices) & we are back to square one. There are youth players who understand this club not playing because of these signings

I obviously don’t know anything about the bloke but I’m a bit confused by this signing ?

Another winger? ?

No thanks, we want to win the league this season and these constant loanees don’t work…

Ojo certainly has a lot of natural talent, and he did perform well during previous loan spells at Wolves and Fulham, but it is a calculated gamble from Gerrard.
The 22-year-old generally plays from the right-hand side, cutting in onto his stronger left-foot. He will, therefore, provide some competition for Daniel Candeias, who has lacked consistency on the right wing.
