Rangers right-back Nathan Patterson is reportedly on the verge of completing a move to Everton.
An initial £12m fee has been agreed with the figure likely to rise to £16m once bonuses are paid over the next few years.
Supporters on Twitter are disappointed to see Patterson leave Ibrox but they understand why the decision has been made due to the amount the club will receive for the player:
Great business from the club. Like you said it doesn’t weaken our starting 11, and now we have funds to strengthen for the title push 👍🏽

£12m upfront for him and £4.5m for Gerrard. Should see us through

As much as we hate not seeing him getting to fulfil his potential with us, getting £16m and getting a sell on is pretty great business I think.

So sad to see him go would have been great to see him flourish at rangers 😥🇬🇧

I think he’s moved past being a backup tbh. Whoever he goes to he’ll be first choice. I’d expect a young promising player as backup to replace Nathan q bit like Bassey signing.

It will be a difficult one to swallow for Gers supporters, considering many believed that Patterson could have been the club’s first-choice right-back for many years to come.
However, as we explained in an article yesterday, there are legitimate reasons why the Light Blues have decided to sell now. For one thing, it will almost double the club’s previous record sale.
Whatever the merits of the deal, though, fans will undoubtedly be keen to wish the player well when he does finalise his transfer to Goodison Park.
