Rangers manager Steven Gerrard confirmed that George Edmundson will be handed a rare start when the Bears face Stranraer in the Scottish Cup on Friday night.
The Englishman has not been a regular starter for the Scottish club despite the Gers shelling out £700,000 on the centre-back in June.
Supporters on Twitter are, however, glad that Edmundson will be given another chance as he hasn’t done anything wrong when called upon this season:
Gonna be some player this guy, can see it in him

One of goldson, katic or helander will move on in the next year or two. Lad just has to do his bit when called upon and hopefully step in and make the position his own.

Stranraer are currently bottom of League One, so they probably won’t present much of a challenge for Rangers, but after narrowly losing out in the Betfred Cup final, Gerrard’s men will be determined to go on another cup run as they look to clinch some silverware.
Following the cup tie tomorrow night, the Light Blues turn their attentions back to league action with St Mirren the visitors to Ibrox next Wednesday night as the winter break comes to an end.
