Gerrard Targeted By Turkish Giants With New President Seeing Him As ‘Dream’ Appointment

Besiktas are keen on hiring Rangers manager Steven Gerrard as their next manager, according to Fanatik. The Turkish publication claims that new president Ahmet Nur Ceb has made the Gers boss his “dream” appointment.

The Super Lig club are currently struggling in the league, sitting seventh after a terrible run of form under current head coach Abdullah Avci.

Nur Ceb has reportedly identified Gerrard as the man to turn around the side’s fortune, but it does appear to be a highly ambitious move which is destined to fail.

Gerrard only signed a new four and a half year contract last month and his current focus is on trying to secure the Light Blues’ first league title since 2011.

Rangers head into this afternoon’s match against Hearts five points behind league leaders Celtic, but they could close that gap to two, with a game in hand, if they secure a win at Tynecastle.
