Gerrard Slams ‘Crazy’ Decision That Could Damage Rangers’ Chances Of Securing Vital Win

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard says he is unhappy with the SFA’s decision to make the Gers’ match against St Johnstone tomorrow a 12:15 kick off.

The short gap from the Light Blues 1-0 win against Feyenoord on Thursday has led to Gerrard criticising the call to bring the game further forward:

“We have to get the players recovered as quick as we can because unfortunately, the SFA don’t help us in situations like these, they give you the 12:15 kick-off which is, crazy. But we have to live with that deal and get on with it.”

It’s all down to TV schedules with BT Sport televising the fixture tomorrow, but the early kick-off certainly doesn’t help the Rangers player’s recovery time.

Gerrard wants the best possible chance of competing on all fronts this season, and the short turnaround could lead to some personnel changes for the game versus St Johnstone.

Could those changes damage Rangers’ prospects of getting the win, and consequently hurt them in their ambitions of winning the league? We shall have to wait and see.

Gerrard does have a large squad at his disposal and he will have to use it tomorrow in order to have a fresh starting eleven on the pitch.
