Gerrard Seriously Contemplating Raiding Rangers For 10M Rated Finnish Star As Villa Seek Luiz Replacement

Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard is keen on recruiting Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara when the transfer window reopens, according to reports in the UK.

Douglas Luiz has been attracting interest from Arsenal and Liverpool, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, and Gerrard has been looking at potential replacements.

Kamara is expected to be put on the market by the Bears for around £10m and that asking price makes him an attractive target for Villa, especially as he has worked with Gerrard before.

The Finnish international performed well in last season’s Europa League, as he helped the Gers reach the final in Seville, and those performances are said to have convinced Gerrard that he can perform well in the Premier League.

Villa are not expected to be the only team looking to sign Kamara in the New Year, though, with Nice also likely to revive their interest after failing to secure the midfielder’s signature ahead of the transfer deadline earlier this month.
