Gerrard Reveals How Many Signings Rangers Are Planning Before Deadline Day

The Ibrox Stadium.

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard says supporters should not be expecting multiple signings before the transfer window closes on Monday night.

The Light Blues boss claims the club is focused on making just one more addition to the squad in the next few days, but there are no guarantees that there will be more new faces coming in through the door at Ibrox:

“It’s difficult to control because you never know what’s going to land on your desk and whether you are able to get someone over the line when you are trying to make it happen. There certainly won’t be (multiple) additions. If we do well in the next couple of days there might be an addition.”

It is believed that adding a box to box midfielder is Gerrard’s main focus ahead of deadline day. Preston’s Daniel Johnson has been heavily linked with a move north of the border in recent weeks but the trail has seemingly gone cold on that one.

A loan swoop for Everton’s Mohamed Besic has emerged as a possibility, following reports in the Bosnia media, but Gerrard was quick to dampen that speculation at his news conference yesterday.

Racing Genk’s Patrik Hrosovsky and Sheffield United’s John Lundstram have also been mentioned as potential options but, so far, not one name has emerged as the number one target.
