Gerrard Named On ‘Shortlist’ Of Managers To Take Over At Premier League Club

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has been added to a long “shortlist” of candidates who could take over from Jose Mourinho at Tottenham, according to 90min.com.

The website claims that the 40-year-old is being considered as a candidate, along with RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann, although Spurs have concerns over his lack of experience.

It means the London club may look elsewhere for their next head coach, with Leicester’s Brendan Rodgers thought to be the favourite, and other names such as Max Allegri, Carlo Ancelotti and Nuno Espirito Santo also being mentioned.

It, therefore, doesn’t look likely that Gerrard will be leaving Ibrox anytime soon. With Tottenham seemingly after a manager with a longer track record in management, he won’t be among the favourites for the job.

That will come as a tremendous relief to Gers supporters who will be keen to see Gerrard stay as manager for many more years to come.
