Gerrard May Consider January Transfer Raid On Rangers For 9M Rated Playmaker

Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard is considering whether to make a move to sign Rangers attacking midfielder Ianis Hagi, according to reports in Romania.

Gerrard brought Hagi to Scotland in 2020, and it appears that he is keen on being reunited with the playmaker at his new club.

However, Villa are not the only team interested in signing the 23-year-old, with it being claimed that Lyon, Galatasaray, Roma and Sevilla could also make bids in the January transfer window.

It is believed that the Gers may only hold out for a fee in the region of £9m, which would be a pretty low fee considering he has been valued at around £11m in the past.

Hagi has had a rather indifferent start to the season, having scored just one goal and contributed one assist in the Scottish Premiership so far, but he did play a pivotal role in helping the Gers qualify for the knockout stages of the Europa League.
