Gerrard Issues Hands Off Warning As He Addresses Claims That Rangers Stars Could Leave

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has said he will fight hard to keep his current squad together after they secured an unbeaten league season by winning 4-0 against Aberdeen yesterday.

A number of clubs are said to be considering offers for his players during the summer transfer window, but Gerrard had a defiant message to those trying to buy his stars:

“Can I keep these players together? Well, let me flip the question for you. If anyone wants to take them away from me, they best bring an army with them.”

The likes of Arsenal are believed to be pursuing Glen Kamara, while Alfredo Morelos, Borna Barisic and Connor Goldson could also be subject to bids.

Leeds are thought to be seriously considering another offer for Ryan Kent as well, so Gerrard knows he has a battle on his hands to keep some of his stars at Ibrox beyond the summer.

The club have come too far in their quest to return to the summit of Scottish football, to then simply dismantle their squad in order to balance the books. One or two departures may be expected but supporters will hope the core of the team will stay together.
