Gerrard ‘Keen’ To Sign ‘Next Wan Bissaka’ But May Face Battle With Arsenal

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is “keen” on signing former Leicester City right-back Dennis Gyamfi, according to the Daily Graphic.

The Ghanaian newspaper reports that Gerrard has received glowing reports from both Kolo Toure and Brendan Rodgers on the fullback who has been likened to Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Gyamfi left the Foxes at the end of last month and is available on a free transfer but the Gers will face stiff competition to land the 18-year-old.

Arsenal are also said to be interested in the Ghanaian and the Daily Graphic claim the Gunners could make a move for the player before the English Premier League season ends later this month.

Gyamfi has yet to play a game in senior football, having featured for Leicester at Under 18 and Under 23 level over the course of the campaign.

The defender was, though, promoted to first-team training last month, prior to this release, and he could be a good backup option for captain James Tavernier after Matt Polster was allowed to leave for New England Revolution.
