Gerrard Confirms Rangers Are “Looking Into’ Offloading Outcast Following Loan Enquiry

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has confirmed that the club have received a loan offer from an unnamed club for winger Eros Grezda.

The Albanian international has reportedly been told that he won’t play for the club again following a spitting incident while the 24-year-old was playing for the reserves against Ballymena in the Scottish Challenge Cup last week.

Two teams from Qatar are said to be interested in taking Grezda off the club’s hands, and Gerrard has said that the Gers’ board are considering a loan proposal:

“We have had a loan enquiry for Grezda in the last couple of days. The board are looking at that.”

Qatar’s transfer window closes on Monday night so the Light Blues have a few days to finalise any deal for Grezda’s departure.

The winger was signed from NK Osijek for £2m last year, but injuries and disciplinary issues have meant he has played just 17 times. He has not played for the first team since he came on against Motherwell in the 3-0 win back in April.
