Gerrard Confirms Rangers Are At Negotiating Table As They Target Next Recruit

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has admitted he is very keen to re-sign Liverpool winger Ryan Kent.

The Gers are looking to secure the 22-year-old on another loan deal but the decision rests with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, who is expected to take a look at the player during pre-season.

Gerrard says they are waiting at the negotiating table if Liverpool do decide to move Kent on:

“Jurgen Klopp I’m sure will want to take a look at Ryan but we are at the table. We love the player, we felt we did a good job with him for 12 months and feel there’s more to come on the job we’d like to do with him.”

“We’re progressing in terms of our targets and the squad is close to being finished – but we’re not finished just yet.”

It appears that Rangers are close to the end of their extensive summer recruitment, going by Gerrard’s own words.

Their seventh signing should be sealed very shortly after Charlton midfielder Joe Aribo had a medical yesterday.

Whether Kent will be the club’s eighth summer recruit, we shall have to wait and see. The winger had a very good loan spell at Ibrox last season, scoring six goals and providing nine assists in 43 appearances.

Rangers have already signed one Liverpool midfielder this summer, with Sheyi Ojo’s season-long loan move having been confirmed earlier this month.
