Despite the summer transfer window having not even opened yet, Rangers have already been linked with a number of players who could be snapped up to strengthen Steven Gerrard’s squad.

We highlighted in a previous post some of the names the Scottish club are said to be pursuing, but more potential signings have surfaced in recent weeks.

Those mentioned on this list play in a number of positions on the pitch and it seems clear that Gerrard won’t be simply looking to make minor changes in order to close the gap on Celtic.

Press the next page as we go through four players who the Gers are reportedly interested in signing this summer.

Mamadou Fofana

The Metz defender is on the Bears’ radar with his agent having confirmed that the Scottish club have been scouting the 22-year-old in Ligue One this season.

Fofana can play either as a centre-back or as a holding midfielder. With Nikola Katic and Glen Kamara having been both linked with moves away from Ibrox, the Malian international could fill both roles.

Florin Andone

While Jermain Defoe and Alfredo Morelos are the club’s two main forwards, the impending departure of Florian Kamberi back to Hibs following his loan spell will mean Gerrard will have few other options up front.

Andone is not likely to stay at Brighton after criticising the club following his departure on loan to Galatasaray. Whether the Light Blues could afford the Romanian, though, is another matter.

James Graham

Multiple reports suggest that Rangers have already agreed a transfer fee with Ross County for the 16-year-old but talks have stalled over personal terms.

Graham is also being targeted by Leeds so the Scottish club will have to move fast if they want to ensure the teenager makes the move to Glasgow instead of going south of the border.

Joe Lewis

Rangers have reportedly added the Aberdeen shot-stopper’s name to a list of targets as they look to provide competition for current number one Allan McGregor.

With Wes Foderingham and Jak Alnwick both leaving Ibrox at the end of next month, an experienced goalkeeper will be needed, but with the Dons custodian having only put pen to paper on a new contract at the start of this month, signing the 32-year-old could prove to be difficult.
