Fresh Twist Emerges In Move For Daniel Johnson As Preston Signal Interest In Rangers Outcast

Preston North End are among three clubs who are interested in signing Rangers winger Jordan Jones, according to reports in the English media.

Queens Park Rangers and Middlesbrough are also believed to be keen on the Northern Ireland international but the Gers will be very attentive to Preston’s interest, considering they themselves are looking to sign Daniel Johnson from the English Championship side.

Whether Jones could be used in the negotiations to sign Johnson, it remains to be seen. It is thought that the two clubs are quite far apart in their valuations of Johnson so including a player in the deal could help talks reach a successful conclusion.

Johnson’s contract at Deepdale expires next year but reports suggest Rangers would need at least £2m to sign him before the transfer deadline. Jones signed on a free transfer from Kilmarnock in 2019 but he has been told to find a new club by manager Steven Gerrard.
