Everton have joined the race to snap up Rangers winger Ryan Kent on a free transfer, according to reports in the UK.

There is a possibility that the former Liverpool player may end up moving to the Reds’ rivals if the Toffees retain their Premier League status.

However, there are said to be at least four other teams down south who are considering whether to make Kent an offer.

Premier League newcomers Burnley and Sheffield United have reportedly both held discussions with the player and his representatives over the past few weeks.

Bournemouth are believed to have recently entered the race for Kent’s signature as well, while Leeds (who have pursued the 26-year-old for a number of years) may also table a contract proposal.

Kent does also have suitors on the continent

Reports in the Turkish media have suggested that Fenerbahce are close to agreeing a deal with the winger. However, it should be emphasised that these claims should be taken with a large pinch of salt.

There are also thought to be at least two Italian clubs pursuing Kent’s signature, so it remains to be seen where he will end up.
