First Team Star Surprisingly Omitted From Rangers’ Europa League Squad

Rangers winger Daniel Candeias has not been included in the Europa League squad for the games against St Joseph’s.

The Gers have struggled to fill their 25 man squad as they don’t have enough homegrown players, meaning they have only selected 22 for the two-legged tie.

Candeias has been one of the names sacrificed with new signings George Edmundson, Joe Aribo, Greg Stewart, Sheyi Ojo, Jake Hastie and Jordan Jones having made it in.

Jon Flanagan has missed out due to injury while Jamie Murphy is still not ready for the first team following eleven months out with anterior cruciate ligament damage.

Due to the homegrown restrictions, it has meant a number of young players, including in-demand Josh McPake, have made it into the squad.

Rangers travel to Gibraltar for the first leg of their Europa League qualifier tomorrow, with supporters excited to see some of the new recruits in action for the first time.
