Fears That Rangers Star’s Season Is Over Have Been Eased With Latest Injury Update

Rangers winger Jordan Jones will only miss a month due to a knee injury he sustained in the Old Firm derby, according to multiple reports in the Scottish media.

The Northern Ireland international came on as a substitute in the 2-0 defeat to Celtic but was injured when fouling Moritz Bauer in the final moments of the game. He was sent off for his tackle and was given a three-match ban.

It was, though, feared that Jones had suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury which would have kept him of out for the rest of the season. Scans have subsequently revealed that he only sustained a minor medial ligament tear, and he should be back in action sometime in October.

His place on the left-wing will be taken up by new signing Ryan Kent. The 22-year-old joined from Liverpool on deadline day earlier this week for a fee that could reach £7.5m.
